Leadership

The vision and leadership of Alpha Amadou Diallo play a central role in shaping AfroIndigo’s mission. Alpha was born in Guinea and grew up in the Bronx, where he attended the High School of World Cultures. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Bard College at Simon’s Rock, a Master’s in Sustainable Economic Development from SIT Graduate Institute, and a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law. As a lawyer, scholar, and activist, Alpha’s personal journey as an immigrant drives his passion for community lawyering—using legal advocacy as a tool for social change and empowerment. In addition to English, he speaks Fulani, French and Spanish.

With over a decade of experience in community development and organizing, Alpha has built a career at the intersection of law and activism, fighting for the rights of low-income and marginalized communities. As the founding director of Pan African Community Development Initiative, a community-based grassroots organization, he championed programs that promote equity and access. One of his most transformative achievements is the development of Wanllan Mi Wanlle—“Help Me, I Help You” in Fulani—a mutual aid program, as its legal principal, that provides West African asylum seekers with critical resources and legal guidance to navigate the U.S. immigration system.

Alpha’s personal experience as an immigrant and his professional expertise as a legal advocate shape AfroIndigo’s approach. Under his leadership, the firm not only offers legal solutions but also serve as a trusted partner in the immigrant journey, ensuring clients feel empowered, informed, and supported every step of the way.

At AfroIndigo, we believe that every individual—regardless of background—deserves liberty, justice, and the right to build a secure and dignified future.
